Bashar al-Issa is a property developer and investor based in Manchester, UK. Born in Kuwait to an Iraqi family, Bashar finished his education in England and has lived here ever since.
His first property developments were in the South East of England, in Dover and Chatham. He later moved north to Manchester where he now has several major projects underway. The largest of these is the £150m Canopus development in the emerging Greengate area of the city centre. Two towers of 46 and 31 storeys will stand at the heart of Canopus when it is completed.
Bashar’s business interests also stretch overseas as he seeks to maximise the opportunities of a globalised marketplace.
The historic Statler Towers in Buffalo, New York State, US, were acquired in 2006 and will be refurbished in the coming years. Opposite this will be created a new skyscraper made up of high-quality offices. Further projects are planned for Buffalo, which Bashar sees as an undervalued secondary US city with great potential for growth.
He also has a procurement company based in Beijing which supplies much of his BSC Group’s materials.
Through his thriving property business, Bashar feels he is continuing a long history of business leadership and entrepreneurial endeavour in the al-Issa family dating back more than 100 years. |
